Tuning

Some 235 to 240 plus strings must be aligned in tension to sound right at the proper pitch.  If the piano is very flat from neglect, this process must be done two, three or more times, and may take one to two hours.  I tune by ear, which is the accepted method for stage and studio tuning.  Best practice is tuning twice yearly for in-home and as needed for professional work.

Regulation

Between your fingers and the vibrating string are many moving parts, all of which are responsible for touch, tone and power.  From how far down the key goes to were on the string the hammer hits,  every distance and movement should be right.  Some aspects of regulation can be performed to good effect,  and sometimes a complete, and lengthy regulation is warranted.  The needs of the player are important.

Repairs

From squeaks to broken parts,  there are hundreds of issues a piano may present.  From new hammers or strings to pedal, key or cabinet problems, there are few if any issues I've not seen and addressed in many years of working with all makes and models back to the 1800's.
